| We had torrential rains during our stay and when we arrived at Wadi Rhum we found that the road had been washed away. We had arrived after flash floods which had taken the lives of a number of people. Scattered in the desert sand the Israelis had laid land mines and so the journey at this point to Sharm el Sheik and our eventual destination of Ras Muhamed had become increasingly precarious. |
